The new armchairs from Marac

Marac is a top Italian company specialised in the production of luxury sofas and armchairs, based in the heart of the Cantù furniture district. Established in 1969, the company has earned a prestigious international reputation for the artisan quality and on-going research that have been the hallmark of Marac products for over 50 years, its skilled, painstaking workmanship that gives each element of its creations the beauty and quality of furnishings designed to last.

The company’s lengthy experience is evident in the painstaking attention invested in its products, in which every element is crafted with the utmost care to guarantee beauty, comfort and durability.

Exquisitely stylish and impressively functional, Marac furnishings boast enchantingly beautiful shapes, colours, and materials of the finest quality.

The company’s bespoke craftsmanship approach offers custom solutions for a unique furnishing experience tailored to the needs and tastes of each customer.

In recent years, under the Artistic Direction of Enrico Cesana, Marac has extended its range with the addition of tables, coffee tables, chairs, rugs and console tables to complement its upholstered creations, for stylish, smoothly coordinated home décor.

The spotlight will be on two brand-new armchairs crafted in wood: Marlene, designed by Carlo Trevisani, and Time Out, designed by Meneghello Paolelli.

  MARLENE _ Design: Carlo Trevisani

A subtle embrace from welcoming, enveloping arms, an invitation to relaxation and comfort. Smooth, flowing lines are the hallmark of Marlene, the new armchair presented by Marac for the first time at the 2024 edition of the Salone del Mobile.

The synergy between the volume of the seat and the angle of the frame strikes a balance between dynamic and static, turning Marlene “into an element of the everyday living space to interact and engage with”, in the words of designer Carlo Trevisani. The structure of the armchair is in solid ash, and it can be upholstered in leather or fabric.

TIME OUT _ Design: Meneghello Paolelli

Time Out, by the Meneghello Paolelli design firm, is one of the new 2024 models Marac will be previewing at the Salone del Mobile.

Shaped solid ash wood forms the architecture of the top backrest, smoothly slotted into which are the back legs and the arms.

A significant detail that embodies the essence of the design is the signature feature of Time Out: the structure of the armchair has no screws or nails, and is assembled by hand using wooden rods, glue and clamps. The geometry of the frame is so elaborate that the assembly of the 14 turned cylinders requires lengthy, precise workmanship.

The stringing system of the backrest is made from leather-look recyclable material, and the large cushions guarantee maximum comfort. Time Out, as the name suggests, is designed as a relaxing seat to take a break from everyday routine. With its elegant appearance, this armchair is perfect for bringing an attractive touch of contemporary sophistication to any living space.
